CELEBRATIONS

January 16, 2004
Jaime arrived home from work in a good mood knowing that a three-day weekend lay ahead of her in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. She also knew she had to attend Rob's pharmacy leadership dinner that evening (Booooring), but once that was over the rest of the weekend was hers to enjoy.
After asking Rob countless questions about the dinner such as,

What do I have to wear?

Who will be there that I know?

Where is the event located?

Is there going to be entertainment?

What are they serving for dinner?

What time do we have to be there?

Jaime finally felt satisfied with his answers.

At exactly 7pm Rob hailed a cab from their apartment which took them to the plaza just outside the Tribune Tower on Michigan Avenue. While walking through the plaza, Rob revealed that he had been asked to give a speech that evening and wanted to practice it...
...Rob pulled his speech out of his pocket, and like a true gentleman, gave Jaime his coat (It was FREEZING out). He proceeded to read Jaime a three page "speech" he had written, detailing all the reasons he wanted to marry her. He then got down on one knee and proposed! Jaime said, "YES" and was speechless for the next twenty minutes.
The "pharmacy leadership dinner" turned out to be dinner at Everest. When the couple arrived, the maitre d' informed them that their table was not quite ready and suggested they wait in the lounge. Upon entering the lounge, Jaime had her second surprise of the evening when she found both her family and Rob's family anxiously awaiting their arrival, ready to celebrate their engagement.
After a champagne toast, the table was ready and the families enjoyed a delicious meal together.
Upon arriving home, Jaime had her last surprise of the evening when she walked into the apartment and found a dozen roses waiting for her on the hall table. Rob truly thought of everything!
